Free Printable Square Templates
Looking for printable square templates to cut out or color in? In this post, you will find many different-sized square templates to print.
There are different ways to use these printable squares. Cut them out and use them as stencils for tracing the perfect square outline. You could also print the squares and just use them as a coloring sheet.
While a square is one of the most basic shapes, drawing the perfect square can be hard. To help make your life easier, I created this set of free square templates for you to download and use for all your projects.
These square outlines come in many different sizes. With all these printables you will never have to worry about finding the perfect square.
Printable Square Templates
Below you will find nine pdf square printables. They have been designed to be printed on regular 8.5” x 11” printer paper.
As you go through this post you will find that the printables start from the largest-sized squares and go all the way down to the smallest.
The last two printables at the bottom of the page include a mix of different-sized squares.

Full Page 7.5” Square Template
This is the largest square template out of all the printables. The square is 7.5 inches and can be printed on standard-sized printer paper.
If you need this square to be small you could also resize your print setting to set it at a smaller percentage. For example, instead of setting it to print at 100%, you could print it at 80% and the square will be smaller.
Extra Large 4.5” Square Printable
This is the second largest square and includes two 4.5” squares on one sheet of paper. It is perfect if you need more than one larger square.
Large 3.5” Square Outlines
These large squares are 3.5” and come with a total of four squares on one page. They would be great to use as tags or for tracing.
Large/Medium 3” Printable Squares
These large/medium squares are 3” in size and include six squares on one page. A 3” square is a pretty standard size that could be needed in many craft projects.
If you are not sure what size square you need this might be the perfect starting size for you to try out.
Medium 2” Square Printables
This sheet includes twelve 2” square outlines for you to print. Much smaller than the other squares above, but not too small.
Small 1.5” Square Printable
This pdf includes twenty squares that are 1.5” in size. If you need lots of small squares this will be the perfect template for you.
Extra Small 1” Printable Squares
If you are looking for lots of really small squares then you need this printable. These are the smallest squares out of all the templates and it includes thirty-five 1” squares on the page.
Large Multi Sized Squares
This page comes with a mix of different-sized large and medium squares. There are a total of seven squares on the pdf.
Small Multi Sized Squares
This printable includes a mix of sixteen different-sized small and medium squares. While there are so many uses for this one, I thought this would be fun to print out on colored paper to make square confetti.
